Translation of epic literature of the cognate linguocultures (on the example of Yakut translation of the Altai epos “Maadai-Kara”)
// Philology: scientific researches.

DOI: 10.7256/2454-0749.2020.12.34501 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=34501
Abstract:
The subject of this research is translation techniques of the epic literature of cognate linguocultures – Altai and Yakut. The relevance of this work is substantiated by the fact that mutual translation of epic texts is continued within the framework of international translation project for releasing a series of bilingual editions “Epic monuments of the Peoples of the World” initiated in Yakutia in 2014. The team translators and editors requires theoretically grounded recommendations for translation into cognate languages using the intermediary language, which in this case is Russian. The difficulties of translation consists in the fact that both epic texts have common origin, similar literary-poetic characteristics and plots. In the course of this research, the author applied the analysis of lexical translation techniques and methods of reconstruction of syntactic peculiarities of the original; compares the similarities and differences between the literary techniques of both epics texts; describes the essence of translation transformations conducted by the creative team in translation of Altai epos into the Yakut language Conducted in the Soviet time academic translations of epic texts of the peoples of the USSR into the Russian language are of high quality and conveyed national identity of the original. Russian language as an intermediary language gives fullest possible comprehension of the content of the original. If the language is of third linguistic culture and incapable of accurately conveying the national realias and poetic beauty of the original, the translators can refer to the original in the language unfamiliar to them. In order to adequately convey a particular realia, the translators should understand the similarity of common Turkic realias in both linguocultures and resist the temptation to replace the Altai realia with the analogous of their native linguoculture; as well as be able to shape a new word or phrase so that they would sound organically in the target language, but at the same time look non-native, alien, and foreign.

Abstract:
The goal of this article consist in interpretation of the major metaphor in Günter Grass’ novel “The Tin Drum”, and coverage of its interrelation with symbolism of the image of the protagonist Oskar Matzerath. The subject of this research is the metaphor of stopped time. The time stops for Oscar with regards to physical and emotional development. Special attention is given to the fact that the protagonist of the novel, who comes into the world with adult intelligence, deliberately stops his development at the age of three. Using the indicated metaphor, the author of the novel forms the key traits of the image of the protagonists: perpetual child, demiurge, trickster. The novelty of this research and special contribution of the author consists in revelation of direct correlations between the aforementioned traits of the main character of the fundamental problems of human existence. A child who refuses to grow up, symbolizes infantilism and denial of the generally accepted socio-ethical norms. At the same time, G. Grass describes dissolution of the surrounding world and blames specific nation in the crimes against humanity, endowing Oskar Matzerath with the traits of trickster and demiurge. The acquired results can be used in textbooks on the history of foreign literature and culturology; as well as in writing term and graduation theses by students majoring in the humanities.

Abstract:
The subject of the study is the characteristics of verbs of movement in the German language. The aim of the work was to identify the features of German verbs of movement, implemented in forms expressing long-term action ("Verlaufsformen"). These forms were peculiar to colloquial speech, but now some of them are already used as a language norm. After determining the corpus of analyzed verbs, each verb of movement was analyzed according to three possible forms of long-term action recorded by the dictionary. The characteristics of the presence/absence of a direct complement, a reflexive particle in the verb were considered, the frequency of territorial use and the possibility of implementation in speech were analyzed. The research methods were the continuous sampling method, the comparative analysis method, the description method, and the statistical method. Â The scientific novelty of the study consists in a comprehensive description of the features of the functioning of movement verbs in long-acting forms in modern German. As a result, it was found that most verbs are implemented in the same long-acting form, some verbs are used in several forms, but at the same time a priority form is noted, all verbs have a similar implementation according to other signs indicated in the study. The results obtained can be used in the development of materials for theoretical courses on German grammar, theory and practice of translation, interpretation of text in German, communication with native speakers.

Abstract:
The study of lexical-semantic structure of the Crimean Tatar language is one of the relevant tasks of modern Turkology. Systematic interpretation and presentation of the language suggests comprehensive characteristics of lexical-phraseological composition in terminology of paradigmatics, syntagmatics and epidigmatics. Selection of this topic is substantiated by the fact that the category of synonymy in the Crimean Tatar language has not previously become the object of special research. The relevance of studying this topic is defined by insufficient coverage of the problem in the Crimean Tatar language. The existing in modern scientific and educational literature records on synonymy of the Crimean Tatar language are rather fragmentary. The question of synonymy is one of the central in modern linguistics. Multiple aspects of synonymy are also relevant in the Turkic linguistics. The interest towards lexical morphology of synonyms, synonymous use of the borrowed lexis, as well as phraseological synonymy has increased over the recent years. A historiographical overview of the existing in Turkology scientific literature proves that the study of synonymy in Turkic linguistics is currently picking up. A substantial number of works dedicated to this topic examine various concepts of the phenomenon of synonymy, as well as its other important aspects. Many aspects of synonymy are quite relevant in the Turkic linguistics. The interest towards morphology of synonyms, synonymous use of the borrowed lexis, and phraseological synonymy is growing significantly.

DOI: 10.7256/2454-0749.2020.12.34722 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=34722
Abstract:
The article discusses the concept of educational competence, the component composition of foreign language communicative competence and the content of teaching the grammatical side of speech on the material of pronouns of the German language. The grammatical speaking skills presented at the center for research analysis are a means of forming communicative competence. Knowledge of grammatical rules is the basis for language proficiency. The organizing role is given to grammar, which is necessary for students to construct oral statements and understand foreign-language special texts. The article analyzes the features of teaching basic syntactic structures of the German language system, with methodically correct presentation of which students develop grammatical speaking skills. The need to pay great attention to the formation and development of grammatical competence is dictated primarily by the fact that communication in a foreign language is impossible without knowledge and ability to use words and phrases in their correct form in speech in accordance with the norms of the language being studied, as well as without the ability to recognize grammatical phenomena when perceiving someone else's speech.Possessive and demonstrative pronouns are the most difficult for the Russian-speaking audience to assimilate, due to the discrepancy between the forms of their formation and the different volume of their meanings in the contacting languages, which necessitates the use of methodological techniques to weaken the effect of interlanguage interference.

Abstract:
The subject of this research is the peculiarities of representation of the images of gemstones in lyrics of the prominent poet of the XVII century – Âşık Ömer. The object of this research is his lyrics. The depth and diversity of Âşık Ömer’s poetic system makes his work especially relevant at present. The goal this article consists in the analysis of images pf gemstones, and determination of their role in the lyrics of Âşık Ömer. The images of gemstones and noble metals in his poetry are analyzed in three descriptive aspects: external description of beauty of the beloved; description of suffering of the love mate; description of cruelty of the beloved and pain of the love mate. The research methodology is based on the hermeneutical-interpretational, descriptive method and semiotic analysis of the texts. The relevance is defined by frequency, important semantic charge, and special artistic role of the images of gemstones in the poetry of Âşık Ömer, as well as the need for their consideration and analysis. The scientific novelty consists in the fact that this article is first to carry out the analysis of gemstone images in the lyrics of Âşık Ömer. It was revealed that gemstones and noble metals are more often used for describing the beauty of the beloved, her specialty and sublimity (values). In the image of the love mate, they symbolize pain and suffering. The poet may use the same stone or metal in describing both images, but it conveys a different meaning in each case. Such expressive means are an important component of the poet's lyrics, as they imply multiple meanings.

DOI: 10.7256/2454-0749.2020.12.34418 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=34418
Abstract:
This article is dedicated to examination of the process of conception of satire in Yakut literature. The object of this research is the origin and evolution of satire in Yakut poetry. The subject is the satirical compositions of the founders of Yakut literature A. E. Kulakovsky and P. A. Oyunsky. The goal consists in determination of the role of the first writers in conception and development of satire. Yakut literary studies feature research dedicated to particular authors and works, rather than satire as a whole. Therefore, the relevance of this article lies in the holistic review of satire. The theoretical-methodological framework is comprised of the cultural-historical method, within the framework of which the conception of satire is considered a product of social life and cultural-historical conditions of Yakutia of the early XX century. The work also employs the specific-historical and comparative-typological methods of research. The scientific novelty is defined by the fact that the Yakut literary studies currently do not have a comprehensive and systemic research of satirical genre in national poetry. It is established that the pioneer satire in Yakut literature is the founder of Yakut literature A. E. Kulakovsky, who devoted his works to harsh criticism of the conservative traditions of patriarchal-feudal society, rapacity and inhumanity of the new capitalist relations. Kulakovsky was first to create gallery of the satirical portraits of social nature, such as socially classified images of stingy wealthy man, drunken bourgeois, etc. In the 1920s, the pioneer of Yakut Soviet literature P. A. Oyunsky composed works that of socially charged nature. The poet introduced the following new genres into Yakut literature: fable, pamphlet, and parody. Their works surged public thought and marked the birth of satirical genres in Yakut poetry.

Abstract:
The goal of this article consists in analysis of the novels of A.V. Ivanov “Community” and “Tobol” from the perspective of using the images of the Apocalypse. Examples of referring to apocalyptic symbolism in the prose A. V. Ivanov are demonstrated. Multiple examples of interpretation of Biblical symbolism of the Apocalypse are featured in popular culture; A. V. Ivanov uses the experience of such interpretations with regard to the genre of horror novel. The article considers the examples of realization of apocalyptic motifs, and their role in the works of A. V. Ivanov, namely motif of the end of the world and related cataclysms (including the phenomena of monsters and demons of the End of Time), spiritual apocalypse, and rise of the dead. The scientific novelty consists in the analysis of the aforementioned imagery as technique of horror literature. It is proven that Ivanov refers to the images of the Apocalypse through the prism of popular culture, as well as resorts to the original strategy of interpretation of the materials, where the images of the End of Time serve as the language of consciousness of the heroes as the people of their era. The conclusion is made that apocalyptic symbolism, on the one hand manifests as the marker of horror in the genre of popular literature, while on the other hand is used by the for articulation of ethical criticism of modernity.

Abstract:
The subject of this research is the theme of the mission of poet and poetry in works of the pioneer of Yakut lyrics A. I. Sofronov-Alampa. The goal of this article consists in comprehensive analysis of the image of poet in his lyrics. The theme of poet and poetry is traced throughout his artistic journey. Alampa’s poetic heritage features 43 compositions on this topic, which is 12.6% of all his poems. It is noted that the aesthetic views and principles of Alampa were formed under the influence of the poetry of A. Pushkin and M. Lermontov. Reminiscences, constant references to the image of Prophet allow concluding that adoption of traditions of the classics led the poet to portraying the image of the Creator – a mediator between the divine powers and a human. However, the poet took a different approach towards this matter, through the “prism of the spiritual heritage of his nation”, and introduced into his native literature the image of Shaman as the higher force possessing the power of healing and word. Reflecting on the genesis of nature and poetic talent, Alampa refers to the founder of Yakut literature Alexey Kulakovsky as the Shaman – a Creator from God. But first of all, the Shaman at Alampa is a benevolent person – Algyschyt, who heals the wounded and lost souls with power of the word, and guides to the path of happiness. Sofronov grants a special mission and higher purpose to the Shaman-poet – “touch the hearts of the people with the word”. The scientific novelty consists in the attempts to examine the image of poet in the lyrics of Alampa.

Within the framework of studying the typological varieties of modern Mari philosophical poetry, this article examines the lyrics of the contemporary Mari poet Nadezhda Emykan (Vasilyeva), particularly the poems from the compilation “I am the Daughter of Spring” (2016), which reflect the philosophical worldview and perception of the author, and in a certain way characterize the lyrical heroine. Research methodology contains historical-typological and structural-semantic analysis of the works, which allowed describing the structural-semantic levels of philosophical problematic, as well as revealing the authorial concept of the world and a human, and the type of lyrical heroine in the poetry of Nadezhda Emykan. The article discusses the fundamental philosophical problems of the lyrics of Nadezhda Emykan. In this aspect, the lyrics of this contemporary Mari poet is analyzed for the first time. It is proven that the philosophical problematic in Emykan’s lyric poetry is rich and diverse, demonstrating lateral thinking of the author, mental and emotional activity of the lyrical heroine. It is concluded that in analyzing various aspects of life, looking deeply into the present, the author of the book of poems “I am the Daughter of Spring” appears in two guises – as a romanticist, who refuses to accept many aspects of modern life, and as the “core” of the current “sinful” world; she understands the complexity of being, preserves her life principles, inner freedom and honesty therein.

DOI: 10.7256/2454-0749.2020.12.34773 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=34773
Abstract:
The subject of this article is the components of media discourse of a cultural event. Based on the quantitative content analysis and critical discourse analysis of media materials, the author examines peculiarities of the discourse of Robert Rozhdestvensky Altai Regional Literary Festival held since 2007. Analysis is conducted on the quantitative characteristics of publication dynamics (distribution of the material by type of media; by tone i.e. the context of mentioning – positive, negative, or neutral). Characteristic to these media texts is given from the perspective of organization of the discourse: determination of the tone of mentioning and discursive role of the mentioned individuals and organizations – active or passive, representation of communicative events. It is established that the event is covered primarily on the media platforms of regional authorities. Among the most frequently cited subjects in a positive context are the common participants, prominent figures, members of the poet's family, representatives of commercial organizations — sponsors and partners; while in a negative context – political parties, mass media, and administration. An active discursive role characterizes the organizations and representatives of culture and education, among whom are famous actors and authorities, including the governor; less active are the members of poet’s family, political parties, and commercial organizations. Therefore, most discursively active and presented in a positive way are the authorities, organizations and representatives of culture and education. Discursively passive participants are the common participants of a special event. The article demonstrates the positioning of the head of the region within structure of media discourse.
