Abstract:
Currently, artificial intelligence is actively developing and being integrated into all aspects of human life, including science, resulting in both threats and opportunities that require careful consideration. Artificial intelligence can significantly influence the quality and effectiveness of sociological research. This article is dedicated to analyzing and describing the experience of using artificial intelligence, particularly the GPT-4o mini model, in sociological studies for processing and analyzing qualitative data obtained from semi-structured interviews. The author examines the possibilities and limitations of applying GPT-4o mini as a tool for transcribing and analyzing interviews, with special attention given to identifying its analytical capabilities for generating summaries and conclusions. The empirical foundation of the research consists of the results from expert semi-structured interviews focused on marketing ethics conducted among marketing specialists (n=12, 2024). Reflecting on the research experience revealed both positive and negative consequences of utilizing GPT-4o mini for processing and analyzing interviews. The findings indicate that, despite certain limitations in interpretive depth, the GPT-4o mini model can be beneficial for researchers in several aspects, especially regarding the automation of the transcription process. It is essential to note that any interview transcript generated using artificial intelligence must undergo careful verification by the researcher, as the model may encounter difficulties in interpreting human language. Issues such as spelling errors, misattributions of speech, and intonational pauses can lead to a loss of semantic integrity in the text. While assessing the capabilities of GPT-4o mini in data analysis, the model demonstrated mediocre results, typically producing superficial conclusions. In summary, the results of the study can be utilized to optimize the process of processing and analyzing qualitative data in sociological research by incorporating artificial intelligence, particularly the GPT-4o mini model.

Abstract:
The subject of this research is the socio-economic factors of students' academic performance. By socio-economic factors, the author means those factors in which people's lives are influenced by their economic status, origin and occupation. The author examines the main determinants affecting the educational activities of students. The author analyzes in detail the relationship between the financial situation of a student's family and his academic results. Such indicators as income level, housing conditions, availability of educational resources and the possibility of additional training are considered. Statistically significant correlations between these indicators and students' academic performance are revealed. The influence of education and professional employment of parents, their social circle and the degree of involvement in the educational process is investigated. It analyzes how social connections and family resources contribute to or hinder academic success. The sample used for the survey consists of students of higher educational institutions in Barnaul. The sample is based on a cluster selection system for respondents. The sample population of the study consisted of 228 respondents. The author came to the conclusion that among the main factors affecting academic performance, one can single out the financial situation of students' families, housing conditions, job availability, motivation to study, and others. These factors must be taken into account when developing educational programs and strategies for the development of educational institutions. Further research in this area may be aimed at a deeper study of the identified factors, as well as at expanding the sample to include other regions. This will provide a more complete picture of the impact of socio-economic factors on students' academic performance and develop more effective measures to improve the quality of education. The author also emphasizes the need to develop and implement effective social programs aimed at creating equal educational opportunities for all students, regardless of their socio-economic background.

Abstract:
The article examines the patriotic education of university students on the example of the M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University. The aim of the work is to obtain up-to-date information about the level of patriotism among students as a result of the university's educational activities. The study is based on data from a sociological survey (N=1500) conducted in 2024. An adapted version of the "Methodology for Diagnostics and Criteria for Assessing the Effectiveness of Patriotic Education of Schoolchildren," developed by a team from the Institute of Humanitarian Research and Problems of Small-Numbered Peoples of the North, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was used as a tool for measuring the level of patriotism among university students. The methodology is a sociological questionnaire aimed at self-diagnosis by educational institutions of the effectiveness of their patriotic education. In the course of this study, the questionnaire was modified to take into account the specifics of the student audience. The methodology includes analysis and interpretation of survey results, comparison of indicators of the level of patriotism and student involvement in patriotic activities. The novelty of the study lies in identifying the discrepancy between the level of patriotism and the involvement of students in relevant activities, and in analyzing the possible reasons for this phenomenon. The survey showed that the majority of students (71.9%) demonstrate a high level of patriotic feelings. At the same time, insufficient involvement of a significant part of students in patriotic activities was revealed: only 7.3% of respondents are characterized by high activity, 52.3% by medium activity, and 40.4% by low activity. It was established that the system of patriotic education in the studied university is effective in terms of forming patriotic feelings among students. At the same time, it is necessary to intensify efforts to involve students in practical activities of a patriotic orientation. The article proposes measures to solve this problem, including the development of student self-government, support for youth associations, implementation of military-patriotic events, regular monitoring and evaluation of work effectiveness. The data obtained can be used to optimize the system of patriotic education in the studied university, as well as in other universities with similar characteristics.

Abstract:
The process of forming civic guidelines for the social competence of the younger generation is analyzed using the example of the activities of the additional education system in St. Petersburg. The practices of forming civic guidelines for the social competence of the younger generation were chosen as the object of this study. The article presents the materials of a study conducted on the basis of the city Center for Patriotic Education and Preventive Work in 2022, during which the practices of civic and patriotic education of students of educational organizations in St. Petersburg were studied in detail. Two components of the process of forming the social competence of the younger generation were identified: the construction of the semantic content of the value of patriotism (the formulations used to describe this value in the documents studied), as well as the forms of representation of this value directly during the educational process (the forms and types of activities in which students are directly involved). In addition, the frequency of mentions of certain semantic categories in the general discourse space of the Center's activities was recorded. The main methods of scientific research are the method of document analysis and the method of semi-structured interviews. To interpret the results, the authors based the research on the theory of social constructionism and the theory of discourse analysis by E. Laclo and S.Mouff. The authors conclude that today the patriotism is the most important civic quality for the formation of social ties in modern Russia. In some cases its significance is so great that it completely replaces the semantic content of the concept of "citizenship". At the same time, there is a tendency to militarize the concept of patriotism both at the level of constructing its semantic content and in the course of representation practices, presented mainly through semantic categories and activities inextricably linked to military subjects. The authors record the discrepancy between the understanding of the semantic content of civic values by modern adolescents and the older generation. This situation suggests that the existing practices of representing patriotism are not fully consistent with the ideological demands of both the state and the younger generation, which indicates the need to search for new images of civic values.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of modern youth subcultures. Based on an empirical sociological study conducted among students of Orenburg State University, the prevalence and peculiarities of perception of youth subcultures in the student environment of a provincial university were studied. The object of the study is the student youth of a provincial university. The subject of the study is the youth subculture in the assessments of students and the degree of their involvement in modern subcultural groups. The relevance of studying the involvement of youth in subcultural practices is determined by the attitude towards youth not only as an object on the part of the state and social institutions, but also as an active subject of social reality. In modern society, there is a tendency towards an increase in the number of subcultures, the intertwining of subcultural practices, the virtualization of interaction and the blurring of the boundaries of membership of their participants. As a result, cultural classification becomes more difficult and requires new approaches to understanding, including on the basis of empirical material. At the preparatory stage, the pilot survey method was used, which was attended by 150 people. The survey was conducted in the form of a questionnaire in Google Forms using the Internet. In order to obtain more detailed judgments reflecting the specifics of student perception of modern subcultural trends and practices, a qualitative stage of the survey was conducted using the focus group method. The survey results showed low involvement of students in subcultural groups, the lack of a pronounced demonstration of their belonging to a subculture in a formal educational organization. The attitude towards participants in subcultures is neutral, determined by the degree of violation of personal boundaries and ideas promoted by the subculture (condemnation of calls for violence, discrimination). The participants of the subcultural groups identified during the survey do not note negative attitudes towards themselves in the student community. According to the respondents, the main reason for inclusion in subcultural groups is related to the need for communication among their participants, which cannot be satisfied in the daily practice of interaction, while the risk of limiting the communication to only a subcultural group is highlighted. In general, the youth subculture among students is perceived as an integral part of modern society, performing necessary social functions.
