Pekka Hallberg Rule of Law and DevelopmentAbstract: The article is about the problem of relationship between rule of law and society under the backdrops of economic crisis. The author believes that the rule of law can be analyzed on the basis of four variables: the doctrine of separation of powers, the application of fundamental rights and freedoms, and the functionality of the legal system itself.
