Abstract: The article is devoted to the 70th anniversary of Dmitry Sergeevich Merezhkovsky’s death and describes his basic views and beliefs. The emphasis is made on Merezhkovsky’s original conceptions, in particular, his idea of the nature and historical orientation of Christianity, the role of gender and embodiment and the concept of the so-called ‘Third Testament’ which played an important role in Merezhkovsky’s so-called ‘new Christianity’.
