Medvedeva, T. N. Psychological Portrait of a Modern School Senior with Various School Interests

Abstract: The article considers professional interests of modern school seniors. The author has carried out a theoretical analysis of dynamics of professional interests and abilities of schoolchildren throughout the 20th century. It is shown that very often seniors are interested in professions which will become popular only in the following decades. Professional interests of modern school seniors are analyzed from the point of view of the theory of integral individuality. It is shown that teenagers with a strong temperament are often interested in humanities, while highly intellectual teenagers are more interested in the ‘human-sign’ type of profession, chemistry and math. Socially active seniors are interested in the ‘human-human’ type of profession but they are also often interested in math and chemistry.
