Abstract: The article is devoted to the legal doctrine as a source of law. The author analyzes historical stages of the evolution of English legal doctrine and the reasons for acknowledgement of doctrinal works of lawyers as a source of law in England. Furthermore, the particularities of English jurisprudence are examined in this edition.
