Borisov, N. A. Scenarios of Transmission of Authorities within the Post-Soviet Territory: Is the ‘Fair Game’ Possible?

Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of forms of transmission of the presidential authorities in the countries of the former USSR. The author defined the two scenarios of changing the power: ‘coup d’Etat’ and ‘succession’. The author analyzed conditions, factors and consequences of corresponding political processes and concluded that the election institution has never played a significant role in the process of transmission of authorities within the post-soviet territory
