Aura of the Alphabet: Cyrillic ‘Glagol Dobro Est’ (Literally, ‘Say: the Good Exists’) and Japanese ‘Ti Ri Nu Ru Vo’ (Literally, ‘All Beauty Faded Away’)Abstract: The article compares principles of organization and semantization of the Cyrillic alphabet and Japanese syllabary iroha as well as other forms of structuring Japanese syllabic letters (including modern gojuon). The author describes potentials and limitations of each form in being a modeling scheme of world perception.
