Thought vs. feeling
// Philosophy and Culture.

Abstract:
Multiple authors underline the discord between the thoughts and the feelings, which attributable to the modern man. It is noted that English-American analytical philosophy and continental existential philosophy are extremely disengaged. Moreover, the though and the feeling in the modern consciousness constantly try to rid themselves of each other. We can notice such discord in mundane, routine consciousness. What is the cause of this confrontation? How the mind can reunite with emotions? These questions are covered in the article. The author actively uses the achievements of analytical philosophy and existential experience, as well as applies the method of historicism, which allows demonstrating the dynamics of correlation between the thought and the feeling in different eras. This work contains the analysis of different concepts associated with the problem of though-feeling interrelation. A critical assessment is given to the projects which do not consider the achievements of analytical psychology. The solution to this problem consists in overcoming of these two extremities. Of course the noticeable discord between the thought and the feeling is needed to be overcome, but at the same time, the abstract reasoning on sentimental upbringing does not take into account difficulties inherent to human psyche. The author suggests an opinion that not all abilities of a specific human can be unequivocally developed.

The version of the Actor-Network Theory
// Philosophy and Culture.

P. 1091-1098.

Abstract:
The Actor-Network Theory (ANT) is one of the most recent directions in the modern philosophy and sociology
of science, associated with the names of Bruno Latour, Michel Callon, and John Law. The article analyzes the key
aspects of the actor-network approach to the benefit of activeness of various objects. In the first part of the research
it is demonstrated how Latour overcomes social constructivism through the metaphor of resistance. In the second
part, the argument about the resistance is being clarified through the concepts of anti-essentialism and symmetry.
The third part analyzes the criticism of the Edinburgh and Bath schools towards ANT within the sociology of scientific
knowledge. The methods of conceptual analysis and reconstruction of intellectual context allow determining the
positive and negative sides of the suggested by Latour solution. In the conclusion, the author introduces the difference
between the paradox of absence and forms of co-presence. The actor-network approach virtually does not examine
the nonhuman interactions in the absence of people; its theoreticians rather develop the new models of co-presence.
Using the aforementioned difference, it could be explained why in future Latour refers to the political ecology and
concept of the Anthropocene.

The problem of social violence in
philosophy of the Russian Neo-Kantians
// Philosophy and Culture.
2016. ¹ 8.
P. 1099-1106.

Abstract:
This article examines the practical philosophy of the Russian Neo-Kantian scientists P. I. Novgorodtsev,
B. P. Vysheslavtsev, B. A. Kistyakovsky, and A. L. Saketti, for the purpose of determination of their attitude towards the
problem of violence. The author attempts to designate the content of the problem of violence, clarify the specificity
of the Neo-Kantian relation to it through the analysis of the texts of Russian Neo-Kantians. As an additional task,
the author also explores the question on correlation between the Neo-Kantian problematics of violence and the
corresponding views of I. Kant. During the course of this research it has been determined that the Russian NeoKantian
scholars in their works touch upon three types of violence: legal compulsion, in which Neo-Kantians discuss
the question of guarantees of legitimacy of compulsion and its conditions; extralegal, towards which Neo-Kantians
hold a critical position; and foreign policy violence (war) – in this regard, the orientation towards overcoming is being
formulated. The Russian Neo-Kantians believe that the main path in elimination of negative consequences of the
social antagonisms that are present in human society lies in realization of the legal ideal, embodied in a legal state,
which can be compared to Kant’s position

Abstract:
This article examines the key definitions of time and space. It is demonstrated that if time in the XX century attains the character of the ultimate ontological foundation substantiating the corresponding interpretations, then space, which within the framework of physical theories meets time, in philosophical searches, on the contrary, counterpoises time. Space is endowed with the role of “reservoir” that is close to the role of “immanent dwell”. Mainly on the example of M. Heidegger’s philosophy, the author demonstrate the incorrectness of such approach and substantiates the need for the new ontology, which interprets the space itself as an ontological condition for materialization (fulfill). The scientific novelty consists in enhancing “spatiality” with ontological importance. The author is firs to underline the specificity of the initial homogeneity of space and time, the uniting ambivalence of the “movement towards integral” (homogenous), which in space is designated as aestheticism, and in time – the “establishment” and “agonal confrontation” (heterogeneous); which in space is manifested as expansion and assignment-assimilation, while in time as the tempo and speed of the “organic” interaction.

Abstract:
The subject of this research is the semiotics of images traditionally identifies as the Scythians (existed in Greek, mostly Attic, vase painting during the period of 570-470 BC, which were most numerous among the present in Greek art of the Others), as well specific aspects of their look (tall hat, pants, bow, gorytos), storylines in which they are represented (associated with war or preparation to it alongside the mythology: Trojan War and mythological characters), and connection with the historical events and cultural phenomena. The author makes an attempt of a comprehensive historical-culturological, iconological and semiotic analysis of the images (primarily Attic) vase painting, traditionally identified as “Scythians” during the period of 570-470 BC. The author reviews the main approaches towards identification of their ethnicity, as well as correlation to the specific historical characters and/or events. Scientific novelty consists in the analysis of the images of Scythians in the extensive cultural-historical context, with regards to the specificity of visual arts as a whole and Greek art in particular, seeing it as a certain semiotic environment and means of cognition of the phenomena of reality. The main conclusion is the presence of the following traits in the images of the proverbial Scythians:

The cultural and philosophical dichotomy: the phenomenon of mass culture in the Russian research tradition
// Philosophy and Culture.

Abstract:
The subject of this research is the evolution of attitudes upon the phenomenon of mass culture within the framework of the Russian cultural and philosophical discourse of the XIX-XXI centuries. The author considers the presented concepts from the perspective of their historical conditionality, differentiation, paradigm, and effectiveness. Special attention is paid to the modern status of the problem. Without the dedicated, detailed, and methodologically-oriented determination of boundaries and conceptual cultural layers, the further development of the Russian scientific thought alongside the more efficient existence of Russia itself is impossible in the modern circumstances. Due to this fact, this research is based on the theoretical constructs and reasoning of the phenomenon of mass culture within the Russian philosophy and culturology. The scientific novelty first and foremost consists in the fact that analytics does not focus on a certain stage of cultural reflection of the phenomenon, but is built on the gradual (including comparative) understanding of its specificity in the context of pre-terminological and precisely terminological periods that cover just over 200 years.

The creation of method: Un novum instrumentum in “Utopia” of Thomas More
// Philosophy and Culture.
2016. ¹ 8.
P. 1139-1147.
URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=68134
Abstract:
The subject of this research is the created by Thomas More method of “indirect approach” (ductus obliquus) reasoning in his work “Utopia”, which applies irony and fantasy. This method is characteristic to the eccentric intertwinement of fiction and fact that subsequently became the foundation for the utopian genre and form of creativity. The article follows the correlation between these elements in accordance with the three main positions: real and fictional characters, toposes and events in the first book of “Utopia”; authenticity and fiction in the documental sources and materials on the New World; accent on the idea and fact in creation of the image of the ideal state in second part of the book. The author introduces into the scientific circulation the new sources based on the original translations, as well as claims that the fictional component of “Utopia” was substantiated by the attributable to the era of Renaissance and Great Geographical Discoveries “captivation by America” (J. Borges). But “Utopia” does not mirror the New World realities: More is far from “idealization of the savage”, which is characteristic for a later period. The article expresses a suggestion that More perceived America as a fragment of the historical past of humanity, and believed that further progress of people of the continents depends on their familiarization with the world cultural values.

The problem of death in the philosophy of Georges Bataille
// Philosophy and Culture.
2016. ¹ 8.
P. 1148-1157.
URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=68135
Abstract:
The subject of research is the problem of death in the philosophy of Georges Bataille. The theme of death in Bataille is inextricably linked to the theme of community. It is from this context comes the definition of community as "sovereign" and "sacred". Any community, any movement of cooperative experience is being established around some sacred core that can turn "a category of death into a principle of life, the category of decline – in the principle of an excess of vitality", which corresponds with the ambivalent nature of the sacred: it is both high and low, pure and revolting, the sacred and the cursed. In most cases, in the works of Bataille concepts are not static: rather, they constantly travel along the surface of the text, escaping because of their very dynamic from any ordering, so we do not set ourselves the task of holistic analysis of the topic of death, but sought only to outline the metaphoric of his texts. Attempt to represent the experience of the sovereign community of Georges Bataille by combining the two perspectives: in real (community of Surrealists, "Counter-attack", "Acetal", "College of Sociology") and the ideal community. Bataille shows that the community does not require the integrity, it rather suggests the loss of the “part of your own being”, creating yourself by means of your own death. This is what the philosopher calls "the practice of joy before death".

Intercultural communication as the scientific knowledge: origins of the research and main theories of the XX century
// Philosophy and Culture.
2016. ¹ 8.
P. 1168-1176.
URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=68137
Abstract:
Today the expression “intercultural communication” more and more often is being understood as a so-called “humanitarian stamp”, especially by the representatives of technical disciplines. At the same time, it is not just the process of dialogue between cultures, but a relatively independent sphere of scientific knowledge that studies this dialogue from various humanitarian positions. Despite the fact that as a phenomenon the intercultural communication exists for several thousand years, only in the XX century it becomes a scientific discipline. The author follows the origins of the scientific research of intercultural communication, as well as gives a review of its most famous theories emerged in the previous century. Special attention is given to the practical application of these theories and knowledge from the area of intercultural communication in the XXI century. The main conclusion consists in the fact that the scientifically substantiated theories and models are required for solution of the practical tasks of social interaction within the intercultural paradigm, which have emerged in the previous century due to political and socioeconomic reasons. This is namely why the development of such direction as intercultural communication was justified by the historical path itself. The scientific novelty lies in the statement that the process of establishment of intercultural communication as the area of knowledge is being illustrated in the context of modern problems in various spheres of life, which it is meant to solve.

Structural-conceptual analysis of the myth about glamor based on the concept of symbolic forms by Ernst Cassirer
// Philosophy and Culture.
2016. ¹ 8.
P. 1177-1183.
URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=68138
Abstract:
The goal of this article is to examine the modern myth about glamor from the perspective of Ernst Cassirer’s philosophy. Glamorous myth along with all mythical as a whole, possess the three structural components – form of thought, contemplation, and life that reveals its content. It also aestheticizes the being, in which we can observe manifestation of the sacred, miraculous, and divine that encourages avoidance of reality. The myth becomes an eternal symbolic form, which encompasses glamorous narratives that makes it impossible to distinguish between the real and fictional. The author reveals that the traditional laws of mythopoeia (participation, metamorphose, similarity, identification of image and thing, antithesis of sacred and secular) are also present in modernity, acquiring glamorous modality. The three-part structure of a myth highlighted by E. Cassirer allows analyzing the contemporary glamorous narratives, in which the main characters are the archetypes of ancient gods.

Main approaches to the problem of truth in the history of philosophy and Russian religious philosophy
// Philosophy and Culture.
2016. ¹ 8.
P. 1184-1191.
URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=68139
Abstract:
The subject of this research Is the main approaches to the problem of truth and their correlation with the works of the Russian religious philosophers. The following approaches are being determined: ontological, gnoseological, existential, and relativistic (nihilistic). The ontological approach is based on the principle of oneness of reasoning and being, where the truth is authentic being. Such approach emerges on the basis of mythological reasoning. Gnoseological approach lies in contraposition of the subject and object of cognition. Existential approach is established on the so-called reference to the circumstances preceding the subject-object demarcation. The truth is being understood as the existence or value. Relativistic approach in its development balances the definition of truth, eventually seeing it as fiction. In the works of the Russian religious philosophers we can observe an ontological trend, in which the truth is understood as “omnibeing”. According to V. S. Solovyev, the truth is perceived in “mystical” unity of rational and irrational aspects of a subject, in unity of the subject and object of cognition. In order to reveal the inner logic of such unity, A. F. Losev refers to the neo-Platonic dialectics. At the same time, Russian religious philosophers criticize the gnoseological approach, subjective-idealistic trends of existential approach, as well as relativistic (nihilistic) approach. The conclusion is made that the Russian religious philosophy is a peculiar continuation of the ancient and medieval ontological tradition. We can also observe mythological foundations of the specificity of Russian religious philosophy.

The theme of spirit in understanding of the basis of human nature
// Philosophy and Culture.

P. 1192-1201.

Abstract:
This article is dedicated to the attempt to rehabilitate the category of “spirit” through the reasoning on its importance for humanitarian research tradition. The fundamental, capacious, and at the same time mundane and conservative notion of “spirit” can seem depleted and irrelevant at the present stage. It does not exactly fit into the dominating standards of anthropological knowledge. But it does not really matter which character carries a modern scientific discourse, because in human reality there is an unnoticeable, but permanent and fundamental power – the spirit. It is not subjected to the visual proof or rational understanding, as well as requires certain efforts and a specific reflexive stance for its achievement. During the course of this research the author reveals an explanatory potential of the notion of “spirit”, touches upon its interpretations which exist in anthropology. The author sees the sources and the heart of human nature that lie in the platitude of spirit, as well as concludes on the need to return the concept of “spirit” into the anthropological discourse.

Ethnic myth as means of preservation of ethnocultural identity (based on the Circassian culture)
// Philosophy and Culture.
2016. ¹ 8.
P. 1202-1209.
URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=68141
Abstract:
This article examines the process of transformation of ethnic myth in the Circassian culture, starting with the antiquity era of creation of the epos of “Narta” and spanning to the modern post-Soviet period. In the first part of this work the author conceptualizes the notion of “ethnic myth”, as well as asserts the characteristics of its multilayerdness and universality as form of collective consciousness. In the context of the conducted research, the notion of “ethnic myth” becomes an instrument which allows the more detailed examination of separate segments of the ethnic pattern of the Circassians, as well as its wholeness. In other words, ethnic myth is illustrated as one of the forms of consciousness, including the modern representative of an ethnic group. To analyze the transformation processes of ethnic consciousness, the author applies methodology of G. Durand, who claims that the world for a man is can only be in “imaginary” form – a myth, collective and unconscious, which emerges as a primary process and consists form the imaginary, imaginer, and imagination along with the imagination process itself. The correlation of the two specific imaginary modes – day and night, expresses the peculiarities of different culture. Based on this fact the author analyzes the historical change of the boundary between the day and night segments of ethnic myth of the Circassians, which comprises the scientific novelty of this work. Based on the example of evolution of the mythical-epical understanding of ethnic values, the author makes the conclusion of the priority of the day world perception of the ancient Circassians, while the artistic heritage of antiquity already demonstrated the beans of the night mythological consciousness. The author also follows the changes in traditions and rituals, as well as brings examples of the modern forms of ethnic interactions which reflect the specificity of the day and night levels of mythological consciousness among the representatives of the ethnos.

Abstract:
Rosanov created an original massage. He witnessed the being of things. This witness supposes the special relation to the events, that are happen and the perception of this presence as the reality. It causes the identity of being and reality in his works. It is the main plot of his texts, because the real world is changeable, and Rozanov foxes the points of this transformation. All, that seems to be real is for Rozanov the truth. In such way the concrete facts are connected with the unchangeable limit (being). To evidence this limit as the border between the idea and the structure is for Rozanov the main task. Rozanov takes writing as the technology and all other forms of society as the profanation. Rozanov trays to avoid this mistake, so , that why are his opinions subjective. Rozanov protects the ideal concepts of the real life. This concepts are present and we can feel this presence. The people forget about this presence, then they form and order the life. The reality is out of this forms and Rozanov turns to the everyday life. He uncovers the presence of the being. It gives Rozanov the opportunity to reappraise his attitude to the concrete things. It is the main topic of his massage without it the interpretation of his philosophy is impossible.
