Abstract:
The subject of the research is comparative analysis of production systems for the production of protein-containing products of the traditional type and the new production system: “New sericulture” (hereinafter referred to as “NS”), where the feeding products of a silkworm (Bombyx mori (L.): shell cocoon, processed into a functional food product (silk and amino acid peptides), and silkworm pupa, are used as an effective and cheap ingredient in animal and aquaculture feed. Production systems analysis, based on public data, is considered with account for all transformation stages: biosynthesis, bioconversion, and technical conversion, including deep technical conversion (proteins modification) right up to end products. The scientific novelty of the research consists in the detected comparable KPIs of all stages of production processes, such as: biosystem index, biosystem protein index, and income per agricultural ares unit, which help assess the effectiveness of material flow which is the basis of economic effectiveness. According to these criteria, significantly outstripping performance indicators of traditional production systems, “NS” can be considered as a sustainable alternative to the traditional types of protein-containing products manufacturing.

. Agriculture, 1, 25–28. https://doi.org/10.7256/2453-8809.2019.1.20007
Abstract:
The article studies the topical issues of pig farming development in Krasnodar Krai. The author analyzes positive results that farms in Kuban region have achieved. The article contains the analysis of drawbacks and shortcomings influencing the results of pig farms’ work. The author studies the problems of using the best practices in the field of pig breeding in Krasnodar Krai. the author supposes that to ensure food security of the Russian Federation (which is a strategic objective aimed at overcoming Western economic sanctions and in important condition of achieving President’s goals of import substitution of agricultural products and food) it is necessary to strengthen farm animal production in Russia. This is particularly true for pig farming as the most promising sector of animal breeding. The author uses a set of scientific research methods including the scientific and economic experience, industrial testing of the research results; as well as the statistical, mathematical and comparative methods. In the author’s opinion, for the purpose of successful solving the mentioned problems, along with the further development of forage base and wide use of intensive production technologies, the qualitative improvement of herds and breeds and methodical improvement of productive and breeding abilities of existing breeds are becoming more important. Krasnodar Krai is the leading region in these aspects.

Abstract:
The research object is the systems and devices based on wind energy used in grassland farming and free-range animal husbandry. The research subject is the development of technical means of using renewable energy sources for organization and facilitation of intellectual grassland farming. The authors emphasize the importance of restoration of degraded soils, deserts and semi deserts, and creation of favourable economic background for animal breeding, monitoring, water supply and other infrastructure based on renewable energy sources. The authors analyze the current state of grassland farming and the factors influencing the productivity of grama grass and study the methods and approaches to the improvement of thermal characteristics of soil, the criteria influencing the technical and economic effectiveness of using digital intellectual systems in grassland farming. The scientific novelty of the research consists in theoretical substantiation of the key elements of digital intellectual system, their characteristics and functions, which would help to improve energy security of grassland farming. A biotechnological complex for intellectual grassland farming which includes antigravitational heat pipes used for soil temperature reduction for it to be suitable for feed crops, monitoring system, water supply system and other infrastructure on the base of renewable energy sources, can be effectively used for the development of deserts and semi deserts for intellectual grassland farming.

Abstract:
The article is a review of the monograph by Voronin B.A., Golovina S.G., Chupina I.P. and others. Modern rural cooperation as a complex socio-economic system. Yekaterinburg: Ural State Agricultural University, 2019. 221 pp. (ISBN 978-5-901709-14-16). The monograph studying an important scientific issue was prepared by the authors in 2019. In the reviewer’s opinion, it is the first Russian comprehensive scientific research considering the topical legal problems of rural cooperation development in the Russian Federation as a single socio-economic system. The research is based on the set of methods of scientific cognition including analysis, synthesis, comparison, classification, the formal logical and statistical methods, scientific forecasting, etc. The reviewer believes that this monograph fully complies with the requirements of the current legislation of Russia to scientific works of this level, and of great interest both in theoretical and practical contexts. The study can be used as an educational material in the institutions of higher and secondary specialized education (particularly in Bachelor’s, Master’s and specialist’s programmes in economic and law faculties).

Abstract:
This article is a review of the monograph: E. V. Belova "Organization of crop insurance system with state support in the Russian Federation. - M., 2018". This study was carried out by the author in 2018 on a fairly relevant scientific topic. The reviewer believes that this monograph is one of the first attempts of a comprehensive understanding of the need to use the crop insurance system with state support in the Russian Federation to support domestic agricultural producers. This is especially true in connection with the application of a set of socio-economic sanctions against Russia by the United States and the European Union. The monograph used a number of methods of scientific research, in particular: system and dialectical approaches; formal-logical; system-structural analysis; structural-functional analysis; statistical; sociological; various expert methods. According to the reviewer, the monographic study is sufficiently consistent with the requirements of the current legislation of Russia, which are applied to scientific works of this level, representing a wide interest both for researchers and for use in the practice of public authorities and local self-government. It can also be used in the educational process in higher and secondary special educational institutions of the country.

Kozlov “Russian agricultural scientists of the 19th - early 20th centuries: historical and biographical essays”. Political Encyclopaedia, 2019, 967 pp.

Abstract:
The research subject is the work of the senior research fellow of the Institute of Russian History of the Russian Academy of Sciences S.A. Kozlov, studying business activities of Russian agricultural scientists of the 19th - early 20th centuries and their work aimed at popularization of science. The author describes the roles of 13 pioneers, the real professionals and zealots, who for various reasons were forgotten in the Soviet period of history, in educating Russian peasantry and improving particular sectors of agriculture. The reviewed work is based on a wide set of published and archive sources. Kozlov’s research uses the concrete historical approach and the comparative historical method. The author studies the life and work of the scientists in the context of the transformations which were happening at that period of the history of Russia. The scientific novelty of the work consists in the fact that it is the first to attempt to evaluate the evolution of agricultural economic thought in Russia which, by the end of the 19th century, had become an independent element of social culture. The analysis of ideas of pre-revolutionary agricultural scientists who substantiated the necessity to combine traditions and novations, helps to study the experience that can be used for modernization of agriculture in Russia.
