Abstract:
The object of this research is the archaic mentality as a latent component of the collective and individual consciousness of military personnel of the Special Airborne Service Regiment (SASR) of the Australian Armed Forces. Archaic mentality is examined for determination and clarification of essential characteristics that manifest in the line of duty and execution of combat tasks by the military personnel of the regiment. Such explication of the archaic contents of mentality is facilitated by certain training regimen of military personnel of the units of Special Operations Command that include specific “keys” for activating archaic mentality. The research is structured on the comparative analysis of worldviews/world relations, methods and patterns of constructing reality, behavioral psychology in the archaic and postmodernist paradigms of the specialists/operators of the Special Air Service Regiment (SASR). The conclusion is made that any army unit, one of which is the Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) of the Australian Armed Forces, is an archaic structure in its essence, with the corresponding collective consciousness, behavioral psychology, and a way of constructing reality. The modern social dynamics and transformations sometimes contain postmodernist attractors and catalysts of postmodernist way of thinking, behavioral psychology, and construction of reality. These characteristics can clearly influence the archaic military structures, although are not capable to make fundamental changes to the essence of these organizations. In the context of substantial (if possible) degeneration of the archaic social structures (including consciousness, way of thinking, and behavioral psychology) into postmodernist, their essence would be lost, and they would no longer fulfill their functions.

// Psychologist.

DOI: 10.25136/2409-8701.2021.2.35427 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=35427
Abstract:
The subject of this research is the aesthetic consciousness as a predictor of the effectiveness of art therapy in coping with stress. The goal of this article consists in studying the aesthetic consciousness as a predictor of the effectiveness of art therapy in dealing with stressful conditions of the individual. The following empirical methods were employed in the course of research: free descriptions technique of D. A. Leontiev, the scale of resistance to sources of stress of E. V. Raspopin; and Spearman's rank correlation criterion for statistical verification of determined trends and data analysis. The research involved 44 respondents – the students of the faculty of Philology of Sevastopol State University, aged from 17 to 23. It is established that resistance to certain sources of stress is clearly associated with the peculiarities of aesthetic consciousness of the individual; the following dependency is traced: the freer the subject feels in describing an aesthetic object, and the more diverse are his aesthetic reasoning, the higher is his stress resistance level in accordance with the component “Self-others” , and at the same time the lower is his resistance to stressors “the Self”. Therefore, in implementation of art therapy techniques for dealing with stressful conditions of the individual, it is necessary to take into account the peculiarities of the development of aesthetic consciousness of the individual, readiness and ability to work with the complex visual stimuli. The scientific novelty of lies in revealing the role of aesthetic consciousness of the individual as a predictor of the effectiveness of art therapy in coping with stress.

The experience of using psychosemantic technique “color-associative experiment” in psychological counseling of students
// Psychologist.

DOI: 10.25136/2409-8701.2021.2.34039 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=34039
Abstract:
This article presents a qualitative and quantitative study of personality based on psychosemantic technique “color-associative experiment”. The subject of this research is the theoretical framework, procedure for psychosemantic technique “color-associative experiment”, and the possibilities of its application in psychological counseling of students. For quality data processing and interpretation, the author employs the techniques of free and axial coding (the categories correspond to the axes: conditions, phenomenon, its characteristics, strategy of interaction with the phenomenon, and outcome), which allow the psychologist to acquire a holistic representation on the current state of the respondent. The article provides the materials of empirical study, which involved 15 people; describes the results diagnostics of the bachelor's degree students conducted in terms of distance learning at the Academy for the Humanities and Pedagogy (branch) of the Crimean Federal University in Yalta (April 2020). The obtained results indicate that the verbal space and perceptive-semantic space are not identical, but mutually complementary, forming a holistic picture of the individual semantic space of personality. On the example of implementation of “color-associative experiment” technique, the respondent (bachelor's degree graduate) is characterized by a neurotic structure of personality. The intrapersonal conflict and resulting emotional tension are accompanied by the pursuit of orderliness and freedom (the verbal component of semantic space), but also indicate the prevalence of variability and lack of constancy in the perceptive semantic space of personality. For comparing the results of perceptive and verbal semantic space, the author offers the schematic image of the coordinate system formed by these two axes and saturated with individual meanings of the respondent. Thus, in the dialogue with the respondent, the psychologist forms a map of the individual semantic space of the latter. The application of the method of “color-associative experiment” indicated the instance of the development of reflection among students.
