However, an article processing charge (APC) is paid to promote open access journal publishing. The APC is paid only after peer review and acceptance of articles, making all the content freely available under liberal re-use terms. Though authors may need to arrange for the payment themselves, they can receive support from numerous institutions and funders, which cover the fees in various ways.

The journal allows the author(s) to hold the copyright without restrictions. All authors automatically own full copyright in their work as soon as they create it, and current Russian Federal legislation protects them.
