Abstract: The subject of this work is the article of B. V. Asafiev about the comedy production of Alexander Sergeevich Griboyedov “Woe from Wit” realized by Vsevolod Meyerhold in 1928. Asafiev, a famous Russian and Soviet historian and theoretician of music and renowned composer, also took part in creation of this spectacle: he was selecting music that would illustrate the inner image of the characters. The goal of this article became his argumentation of this selection, especially the forming of the psychological likeness of the main character – Chatsky. The key point became Asafiev’s claim about musical characteristics as most active in manifestation of the essence of the character. The author compares the Sturm und Drang era with the times of Mozart, Beethoven, Shubert, and German Lied. Going analytically deeper into the music of Beethoven, the author highlights its multifacetedness, while turning to Mozart – he underlines in it not brightness, but the opposite, the features of the “world-pain”. In theatrological sense Asafiev counterposes the images of Chatsky and Famusov as irreconcilable, gives attention to the logic of the dialogues and ensembles, and the tempos of development of the play. He demonstrates, for example, the tones of French “happy” songs, to convey the street and drawing room vulgarity. As a result, characterizing Griboyedov’s famous comedy through music, Asafiev unfolds a broad musical panorama that includes in addition to the mentioned composers works of Bach, Field, and Wagner. The publication of this forgotten article sheds light on the collaboration between Asafiev and Meyerhold in both, the theatrical aspect, as well as the stage in development of the Asafiev’s intonation theory.

Abstract: Предметом рассмотрения стала статья Б.В. Асафьева по поводу постановки комедии А.С. Грибоедова «Горе от ума», осуществленной В.Э.Мейерхольдом в 1928 г. Асафьев, знаменитый российский и советский историк и теоретик музыки, известный композитор, также принимал участие в создании этого спектакля: он подбирал музыку, рисующую внутренний облик героев. Задачей публикуемой статьи стала его аргументация этого подбора, в наибольшей степени того, как складывался психологический облик главного героя - Чацкого. Особо важным доводом стало утверждение Асафьева о музыкальных характеристиках как наиболее действенных в проявлении характера героя. Методы, которыми пользуется автор статьи, - и исторические, и музыкально-аналитические, и театроведческие. Сопоставляются эпоха Sturm und Drang, времена Моцарта. Бетховена, Шуберта, немецкой Lied. Аналитически углубляясь в музыку Бетховена, автор подчеркивает ее многообразие, а обращаясь к Моцарту, выделяет в ней не солнечность, а, наоборот, черты «мировой скорби». В театроведческом плане Асафьев сопоставляет как непримиримые образы Чацкого и Фамусова, уделяет внимание логике диалогов и ансамблей, темпам развития сценического действия. Свойственным Асафьеву методом выступает и интонационный анализ. Он демонстрирует, например, интонации французских «веселеньких» песенок, отобранных для передачи уличной и салонной пошлости. В итоге, характеризуя знаменитую комедию Грибоедова через звучание музыки, Асафьев развертывает широкую музыкальную панораму, куда входят помимо названных композиторов, также И.С.Бах, Фильд, Вагнер. Публикация этой забытой статьи проливает свет на сотрудничество Асафьева с Мейерхольдом и в театральном плане и как этап в развитии интонационной теории Асафьева.

Abstract: The subjects of study in this article are two concepts: soul-image and image. Offers the author's view on understanding the differences and similarities of these concepts. An attempt to explain the motivation of the choice. What meaning lies in them and that mean people who choose specific a soul- image, and creating a particular image. How important is it to have a creative soul-image and creative image for a popular artist, in particular, in English musical culture. The methodology of the study lies in the comparative analysis of these concepts using the known writings on the subject and personal observations of the author. The novelty of this work consists in introducing into the scientific circulation of creative soul-image and creative image, using as an example the images of popular English artists 70-80 years of XX century. However, the problem understanding of image has created a demand for an ongoing philosophical reflection, and the concept of "soul-image" requires further research.

Abstract: Предметом исследования в данной статье стали два понятия: образ и имидж. Предлагается авторский взгляд на осмысление проблемы различия и схожести этих понятий. Предпринята попытка объяснения мотивации выбора. Какой смысл кроется в них и что подразумевают люди, выбирающие себе тот или иной образ, и создающие себе тот или иной имидж. Насколько важно иметь творческий образ и творческий имидж для популярного артиста, в частности, английской музыкальной культуры. Методология исследования заключается в сравнительном анализе этих понятий с использованием уже известных трудов по этой теме и личных наблюдений автора. Новизна этой работы заключается во введении в научный оборот понятий творческий образ и творческий имидж, используя в качестве примера образы популярных английский исполнителей 70-80 годов XX века. Однако проблема понимания имиджа обозначила потребность в постоянной философской рефлексии, а понятие «образ» требует дальнейших исследований.

Abstract: The subject of the article is presented by the specific method of fixation of compositional authorship in a musical work. In the annotated article the musical legacy of Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninoff is researched in the aspect of segregation and individualization in it of certain constant elements of the composer’s musical language, which in an invariant or a somewhat modified way migrate from one musical composition to another. Bearing in mind such personal stylistic emblems of Rachmaninoff as the “Rachmaninoff subdominant” and the Dies Irae motive, the author of the article focuses on a personal specific resource of this composer’s musical rhythm. The article’s methodology is presented as an aggregate of analytic and synthesizing methods fundamental to musical scholarship with a specially active application of comparative procedures. The conclusion that is presented in the annotated article is that Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninoff is in a certain sense obsessed by the declarative fixation of his compositional authorship, the idea of a ubiquitous implementation of the emblem studies of its individual style. The circumstance that on the rhythmic plane this directedness of the Russian musician appears, in all likelihood, even more explicitly and insistently than in harmony and melody, is seen as extraordinary. The novelty of the article is that it contains information about a previously unknown stylistic rhythmic emblem of Rachmaninoff, discovered during the course of research, one that spans and permeates through his mcompositions that are the most representative in the repertoire.

Abstract: Предмет статьи – специфический способ фиксации композиторского авторства в музыкальном произведении. В аннотируемой статье исследуется музыкально-творческое наследие Сергея Васильевича Рахманинова в аспекте обособления в нем некоторых константных элементов музыкального языка, которые в инвариантном или несколько модифицированном виде мигрируют из одного произведения в другое. Имея в виду такие уже освоенные музыкальной наукой персонально-стилевые эмблемы Рахманинова, как «рахманиновская субдоминанта» и мотив Dies Irae, автор статьи фокусируется на персонально специфицирующем ресурсе музыкальной ритмики данного композитора. Методология статьи предстает в виде совокупности фундаментальных для музыкальной науки аналитических и синтезирующих методов при особо активном применении компаративных процедур. Вывод, который дается в аннотируемой статье, состоит в том, что Сергей Васильевич Рахманинов в некотором смысле одержим декларативной фиксацией своего композиторского авторства, идеей повсеместного насаждения эмблематики своего индивидуального стиля. Неординарным видится то обстоятельство, что в ритмической плоскости эта направленность русского музыканта предстает, пожалуй, даже более рельефно и настойчиво, чем в гармонии и мелодике. Новизна статьи состоит в том, что она содержит информацию об обнаруженной в ходе исследования неизвестной стилевой ритмической эмблеме Рахманинова, охватывающей и пронизывающей его наиболее репертуарные произведения.

Abstract: The object of the study are to overcome the problems of psychological stress in a professional music career. Bolin’s Music is elegant and it is characterized by a combination of strength and exquisite beauty. As a pioneer in working with sound, it is still at a young age has won recognition among jazz and rock musicians. It was Tommy Bolin was able to fully refresh the creative atmosphere of DEEP PURPLE, that by the time a kind of stubborn self-copying regressed, although he could not prevent the collapse of the group. His death left a void in certain unique sector of rock music that represents musical cocktail of a mixture of jazz, hard rock and vintage blues. In this arlicle author suggested and tried to justify the assumption that a great musician, perhaps one of the most prolific and underrated guitarists of all time – Tommy Bolin has become hostage to the brand, created originally for the realization of other ideas of another remarkable musician Ritchie Blackmore. Presented version according to which these and other circumstances were the main determinants of psychological crisis of professional musical activities that are the subject of philosophical and cultural urological research The research based on the phenomenological concept of organizational culture and the theory of social institutions, which are understood as stable complexes of formal and informal rules, principles, norms, attitudes governing the interaction of people in a particular sphere of life and organizes it into a system of roles and statuses. The novelty of the research lies in the scientific substantiation of the reasons for the crises of professional music career, Tommy Bolin, which ultimately led to a life of tragedy – the death of the great guitarist. Over the past year and a half life of Tommy Bolin was four errors – brand (first), communicative (two), psychological (third) and operational (fourth), the totality of which played a fatal role.

Abstract: Объектом исследования являются проблемы преодоления психологического стресса в профессиональной музыкальной деятельности. Музыка Болина – изящна и для нее характерно сочетание силы и утонченной красоты. Будучи новатором в работе со звуком, он еще в молодом возрасте завоевал признание в среде джазовых и рок-музыкантов. Именно Томми Болину удалось в полной мере освежить творческую атмосферу DEEP PURPLE, которые к тому моменту в некотором роде регрессировала от упрямого самокопирования, хотя он и не смог предотвратить распада группы. Его смерть оставила пустоту в определенно уникальном секторе рок-музыки, представляющем музыкальный коктейль из смеси джаза, хард-рока и винтажного блюза. В статье обосновано предположение, что замечательный музыкант, возможно, один из самых плодовитых и недооцененных гитаристов всех времен и народов, – Томми Болин стал заложником бренда, созданного для воплощения изначально иных идей другого замечательного музыканта Ритчи Блэкмора. Изложена версия, согласно которой эти и некоторые другие обстоятельства стали основными психологическими детерминантами кризиса развития профессиональной музыкальной деятельности, что выступает предметом философско-культурологического исследования. В основу исследования положена феноменологическая концепция организационной культуры и теория социальных институтов, которые понимаются как устойчивые комплексы формальных и неформальных правил, принципов, норм, установок, регулирующих взаимодействие людей в определенной сфере жизнедеятельности и организующих его в систему ролей и статусов. Новизна исследования заключается в научном обосновании причин кризисов развития профессиональной музыкальной деятельности Томми Болина, что в конечном итоге привело к жизненной трагедии – смерти великого гитариста. За последние полтора года жизни Томми Болина произошло четыре ошибки – брендовая (первая), коммуникативная (вторая), психологическая (третья) и оперативная (четвертая), совокупность которых сыграла роковую роль.

Abstract: The object of the research of the article is Jules Massenet’s ballet “La Cigale,” which is examined, on the one hand, as one of the composer’s works in the indicated genre (Massenet wrote three ballets) and, on the other hand, as an example of French ballet music of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. A certain amount of decline in the indicated period of Western European ballet as a phenomenon related to theater, that revealed itself primarily in the sphere of production and performance, paradoxically, did not affect its musical side, which is cindicated both by the multitude of the musical scores composed and the large number of composers writing them (Gabriel Pierné, Reynaldo Hahn, Edouard Lalo, Camille Saint-Saens, André Messager, Fules Massenet and others). Upon analyzing the ballet “La Cigale” the author of the article, in light of the multifaceted aspect of the issue, used a complex approach uniting the methods of historicity, literary criticism, analytical musicology and source studies. The conclusions of the work are formed by the revealed peculiarities of interpretation and rethinking of the plot used (Jean de La Fontaine’s fable “La Cigale et la Fourmi,” known in Russia as “The Dragonfly and the Ant”), the description of the inner structure of the ballet’s music (a through development with several relatively completed dancing episodes appearing during the process), the indication of the details of the musical solution (usage of the leitmotif and recurring musical fragments, musical quotations, as well as the sound of the chorus brought into the ballet’s finale). The novelty of the work consists in the comprehensive analysis of a ballet by Massenet carried out for the first time and incorporating it into the number of the few researched ballet scores by the French composers of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Abstract: Предметом исследования статьи стал балет Ж. Массне «Цикада», рассматриваемый, с одной стороны, как одно из сочинений этого композитора в указанном жанре (Массне принадлежат три балета), а, с другой, как пример французской балетной партитуры рубежа XIX–XX веков. Некоторое угасание в указанный период западноевропейского балета как явления театра, проявившееся, в первую очередь, в области постановки и исполнения, парадоксальным образом не коснулось его музыкальной стороны, что доказывается как многочисленностью создаваемых партитур, так и количеством композиторов, их создававших (Г. Пьерне, Р. Ан, Э. Лало, К. Сен-Санс, А. Мессаже, Ж. Массне и пр.). При анализе балета «Цикада» автор статьи, в силу многосторонности проблемы, пользовался комплексным подходом, объединяющим методы историзма, литературоведения, аналитического музыковедения и источниковедения. Выводами работы становятся выявленные особенности трактовки и переосмысления использованного сюжета (басня Ж. де Лафонтена «Цикада», в нашей стране известная как «Стрекоза и Муравей»), описание внутренней структуры музыки балета (сквозное развитие с несколькими возникающими в процессе этого развития относительно завершенными танцевальными эпизодами), указание подробностей музыкального решения (использование лейтмотива и возвращающихся фрагментов, музыкальных цитат, введенного в финале балета звучания хора). Новизна работы состоит во впервые проведенном всестороннем анализе одного из балетов Массне и введении его в число немногочисленных изученных балетных партитур французских композиторов рубежа XIX–XX веков.

Abstract: The author of the book is Doctor of Arts, Professor at the Moscow State P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Valentina Nikolayevna Kholopova. The object of the research is serious, classical music in general examined from the most varied sides: the history of the concept of “music,” the functions of music, the musical image, music as a language and musical intonation. A special direction of this work is the content of music, which has set the issues of comparison of “content” with “semantics” and “hermeneutics,” and has examined special concepts of music content – “specialized and non-specialized musical content” and “three sides of musical content.” Content is also examined in the triad of composer, performer and listener. Involving the psychological aspect led to the problems of conscious and subconscious in the perception of music, as well as psychological analysis of musical form. The axiological aspect has also been brought in due to the elaboration of criteria of artistic value in music. The methodology of research, thereby, became complex and interdisciplinary, having connected theoretical and historical musicology, the foundations of aesthetics, philosophy, semiotics, psychology, linguistics and axiology. The novelty of the work consists in the indicated complexity of methodology, making it possible to disclose previously undemonstrated features of the art of music – the correlation of the sides of content in various epochs, among various composers and performers, in various compositions, the differentiation of musical epochs according to the signs of canon and heuristics, the role of emotions in music, the manifestation of musical intonation in the phenomenon of sonority and pitch, the assertion of music as a language, the establishment of the role of the conscious and subconscious, the typology of listeners to music, and introduction of an original system of artistic value in music. This work merits to be translated into other languages, because of its fundamental nature, modernity and lack of precedent in world musicology.

Abstract: Автором книги является доктор искусствоведения, профессор Московской гос. консерватории им. П.И.Чайковского Валентина Николаевна Холопова. Предметом исследования стало академическое музыкальное искусство в целом, рассмотренное с самых разных сторон: история понятия «музыка», функции музыки, музыкальный образ, музыка как язык, музыкальная интонация. Особым направлением труда стало музыкальное содержание, благодаря чему были поставлены проблемы сравнения «содержания» с «семантикой» и «герменевтикой», рассмотрены особые понятия музыкального содержания – «специальное и неспециальное музыкальное содержание», «три стороны музыкального содержания». Содержание рассмотрено также в триаде: композитор, исполнитель, слушатель. Подключение психологического аспекта подвело к проблемам сознательного и бессознательного в восприятии музыки, психологического анализа музыкальной формы. Внесен также и аксиологический аспект, благодаря разработке критериев художественной ценности в музыке. Методология исследования, таким образом, стала комплексной, междисциплинарной, соединившей теоретическое и историческое музыкознание, установки эстетики, философии, семиотики, психологии, языкознания, аксиология. Новизна работы состоит в указанной комплексности методологии, позволившей открыть ранее непоказанные свойства музыкального искусства – соотношение сторон содержания в разные эпохи, у разных композиторов и исполнителей, в разных произведениях, разграничение музыкальных эпох по признакам канона и эвристики, роль эмоций в музыке, проявление музыкальной интонации в явлениях сонора и звука, утверждение музыки как языка, установление роли сознательного/бессознательного, типология слушателей музыки, введение оригинальной системы художественной ценности в музыке. Труд заслуживает перевода на иностранные языки, благодаря его фундаментальности, современности и отсутствию аналогов в иностранном музыкознании.
