Abstract: This article tries to answer how to overcome contradictions between provision of liberty of speech and counteraction of extremist activity on the Internet. The author describes peculiarities of self-expression on the Internet which influences the development of extremist moods. The author also views constitutional limitations of liberty of speech in the Internet for the purpose of counteraction of extremist activity and their representation in law and court practice. The article contains certain suggestions on how to improve the existing legal regulation in this sphere.
