Abstract: The article is devoted to possibilities of using the system approach in studying the patters of formation and existence of various cultural phenomena. Culture is viewed as a dynamic system developing in accordance with the laws of self-formation and self-regulation. The article suggests the conception of culture as an ideal-founded system; ideals being the foundation of the system of culture. The author of the article studies formation of the system of culture on the basis of interaction between emanational ideals –idols and imanational ideals – ideas.
