Popov, L. M., Merkel, R. V. Connection between emotional and will characteristics and authoritarian personality.

Abstract: The article deals with authoritarianism as a personality characteristic. The authors bring forward arguments proving that as a set of personality traits, authoritarianism may include ‘positive’ and socially important qualities. The article supports a hypothesis that there is a certain connection between authoritarianism and self-regulating qualities, the latter being the result of interiorization of hierarchic relations of power.

Keywords:

psychology, authoritarian personality, conventionalism, aggression, interiorization, submission, stereotype, personality, emotions, will
